Poultry Farming Venture

Fatima Noor of Peshawar started her poultry business with just fifty birds and a small interest-free loan. She had kept chickens at home for years, but never dreamed of turning it into a livelihood. With training from our field team on feeding, vaccination and housing, her fifty birds became three hundred within a year. She sells eggs to two schools in her area and supplies birds to local hotels. "The best part was someone walked with me at every step. The loan was interest-free and the guidance was free too," she says with a smile. Fatima now employs two women from her neighbourhood and is planning a second shed.
